Liraz Bistritz

I am a data scientist passionate about making the world a more sustainable place, based on solid data-driven approaches. My background combines experience in data science, geospatial analysis, business analysis and ecological research.

Over the past three years with the Forest Service, I’ve led projects using geospatial data and fire modeling to support forest management, assess biodiversity, and evaluate wildfire risk. Some of the code I developed for these projects is available on USDA_LirazBistritz’s GitHub.

Before that, I completed my M.Sc. at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where I studied the impact of climate on bird populations, under the supervision of Prof. Ronen Kadmon.
